The Half Length ParKurb Wheelchair Ramp provides easy access into a playground. Timbers that surround a loose fill surfacing are normally 8-inches or 12-inches high. While public playgrounds must be ADA compliant and it’s always a good idea to plan ahead with private playgrounds by making them ADA compliant, a ramp cuts out a clear path between the 8- or 12-inch borders. Having a clear path reduces the chance of a child tripping and falling as they head in and out of the playground. If you have poured in place, surrounding it with a ParKurb Border can protect it. In those cases, using a ramp to get up to the surface can be necessary.
